With around 40,000 products, Lapp Group is not only positioned as one of the major manufacturers and suppliers of innovative connection technologies but also as a system supplier which furnishes customers with custom-fit connections.
Its cable and connection technologies are used all over the world: in conventional machinery and plant engineering as well as the first German offshore wind farm, alpha ventus, in the Transrapid in Shanghai, in stage equipment for the Rolling Stones, in the new opera house in Beijing, in the terminals of Munich and Heathrow Airports, in the Cheops pyramids in Egypt or on the dream liner, AIDAluna.
The success story of the Stuttgart Lapp Group goes back more than 50 years to a garage in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. This was where Oskar Lapp (1921–1987) developed the first industrially manufactured connection and control cable and, together with his wife Ursula Ida Lapp, founded U.I. Lapp KG. They gave their invention the brand name ÖLFLEX®, and even today it is synonymous with particularly oil-resistant flexible conductors.
Today Lapp Group employs a workforce of 2,800 employees around the globe with 15 factories, 40 sales companies and representative offices in more than 100 countries. The company is managed by its founder Ursula Ida Lapp and her sons, Andreas and Siegbert Lapp. Sustainability and responsibility for customers and employees are always placed in the foreground
