Metal and Print – Competence in Metal Decorating
KBA-MetalPrint, a member of the KBA group, is the market leader in Metal Decorating. The high level of competence comes from a hundred years of experience in this specialist sector. The business complements the portfolio of the KBA Group, which is one of the largest suppliers of printing systems worldwide. Another pillar is the emerging business of KBA-CleanAir, offering innovative, energy efficient environmental technology. Our company operates around the world; 80 per cent of our products are exported.
KBA-MetalPrint is the leading supplier of multicolour metal printing and coating lines for the metal packaging industry as well as exhaust air purification systems. The name stands for quality, innovation and continual technical development. KBA-MetalPrint provides the customer with tailor-made solutions and offers a complete service from the initial concept to final printed metal sheets. Our customers use them to produce decorative boxes, food and beer cans, paint and lacquer containers, as well as twist-off and bottle caps.
KBA-MetalPrint’s range includes high-performance, multicolour printing machines developed from wide-format paper printing equipment. The systems are offered with inline coating and either thermal or UV curing systems. There are also specially developed feeding and stacking devices together with quality control and colour-management systems. The new generation of drying ovens demonstrate how environmentally conscious developments have led to dramatic reductions in fuel costs, with energy efficient concepts achieving up to 70 per cent savings and the solvent-purified air available for heating production and warehouse areas.
KBA-CleanAir – innovative environmental technology
KBA-CleanAir, the environmental division of KBA, offers efficient solutions for the treatment of solvent-laden or odour-intensive exhaust air. The steadily increasing legal demands on air cleaning efficiency require new solutions – particularly in the case of industries which have aggressive exhaust air streams or strong odour problems.
Through numerous innovations, KBA-Clean-Air demonstrates their competence. XtraActiveTM, the newly developed ceramic heat exchanger material based on nanoparticle technology, significantly reduces the energy consumption of oxidisers. Sophisticated energy management systems drive down the operational costs to an absolute minimum and optimise the system availability.
Innovation has provided KBA-CleanAir with the newly developed high-temperature heat storage “PowerCollect” system, which stores surplus thermal energy for later use. This technology has been successfully installed at the solar tower power plant in Jülich, Germany, and has already been nominated for an international innovation award. This exciting new technology has huge potential for development in a wide range of applications.
